The previous day heading down Interstate 81 we formed up with an R1150GS outfitted much like a "Long Way Round" bike. After about 50 miles, the bike veered off. We rode for another few hours and stopped at a Red Carpet Inn in Wythesville Va and went to dinner. When we came back that same R1150GS was parked next to our bikes. The next morning, while I was making an espresso, Steve appeared. We spent the rest of the day riding with him all the way down to the Gap. He let both of us ride his bike for over an hour each; the R1150GS is much more nimble than you would expect. Pretty cool!
