Here is a shot of the broken MST Guardian unit. Because of the vernalift issue I have not been able to run the guardian system for more than 1 minute at a time so I never noticed that the unit was leaking.
During the first test after running it for about 10 minutes I noticed that there was drip from under the guardian unit. This unfortunately was dripping right onto the oil pressure exhaust line on the top of the valve cover. Not good. So I shut things down and tightened up the hoses to no avail. After that I figured it was leaking from one of the nipples (notably the third from the end). So I decided to pull the four nipples off and retape them. This did not solve the leak so I took an even closer look and noticed a hairline crack from the third nipple. I tried covering the crack with 5200 to seal it to no avail. When I came back to replace the unit I noticed the crack had expanded to a split running lengthwise. This is no doubt due to me overtorqueing or overtaping the nipples. The initial crack is covered in 5200 now.
