So guys, this is the software I have been working on for ages. It's now in what I would call an early and very angry alpha stage.

For a dreadfully incomplete list of what's changed please see:

http://www.yml.com/_fv/ba/1/515/YML.COM+Upgrade+Mostly+...

The forum, as you can see, has been completely reworked.

Micro, you can link to youtube videos inline by clicking the Add Video link and pasting the YouTube URL into the dialog (it's on the right on the YouTube page). For instance:

You can also upload inline images. However, PLEASE DO NOT UPLOAD ANYTHING YOU DO NOT HOLD THE RIGHTS TO!

The forum also now supports emoticons like

And much more.

Please play with the site and when you find the endless probably that you undoubtedly will post them in the forum, or if that doesn't work send them to me in email.

Thanks!

I forgot to mention, unfortunately you're going to have to re-upload your avatars. Do that from the profile link in the upper right after you log in.

Good job! I can tell a lot of work has gone into this.

There's a photo I've been meaning to edit and I'm getting an error when I click on its "Edit" link:

Permission Denied. You do not have permission to edit this photo"

Any ideas?

Cool video of Hayden. I think that was before everyone started using traction control. Now the only time when people are getting it sideways is when they are crashing.

Yermo,

Do you still have a bug tracker or do you want issues posted in a forum topic?

First issue I found is that this dialog box is over the forum text but under the linked Nicky Hayden video.

Interesting changes, Yermo. Been working with a team developing a social networking site for enviro folks in the Bay w'shed. It has been pretty successful.

How do you turn the email notifications off? I like it, just dont nec need it...

Damn type. "photo" != "photos".

Should be fixed now. Stupid error. Sorry about that.

Keep the bug reports coming.

yea, I haven't ported the ticket list to the new system yet. That'll be coming in a few months and will be part of the mini-social-site/groups thing that i'm building next . ... so for the time being post them here.

The dialogs are appearing under the flash movie is actually an adobe bug. What browser and version of flash are you running?

At the top of the forum there's a forum preferences link. You can turn off the notifications there.

If you do that and it doesn't work let me know and I'll fix it immediately.

By the way Todd, what makes this site different from most is that what I've built is a platform that can be used to build "sites like this one" that look, feel and function very differently.

Through Ryan's company, Nuts and bolts interactive, http://www.nbinteractive.com we're going to be using this platform to build various kinds of business and social sites.

Eventually I'm going to open source it and try to make a name for myself in this space

I was able to edit the photo normally.

Another thing I've noticed though is that sometimes the link to a thread's most recent post does not work and just generates an error page. If I notice a pattern I'll let you know.
