Based on the W3Schools stats, FF 2 is already down to 3.8%.

I would imagine, based on the rate of decline that by Q4 the FF 2 user base will be negligible.

Luckily FF2 doesn't take a great amount of special support, unlike, let's say MSIE 6.

Unfortunately, as FF2 declines, Safari, Opera, Chrome and a bunch of other browsers are increasing making our job much more difficult.

Speaking of which, the other day I found that the Edit and Reply links on posts were not working for me on our Mac (Safari). I seldom use that computer, so I don't know if it was an anomaly or a regular problem.

Not sure what the exact version is. I'll check when I get a chance.

Yes, FF2 and 3 differences have been far easier to deal with than M$ IE 6 or 7.

I don't think that FF2 users are migrating to Safari, Chrome or Opera. I think probably all of the are upgrading to FF3.

It's possible that the increase in the other browsers usage is from IE 6 users deciding to go with something else.

Either way, it's nice to see that by the end of the year we shouldn't have to worry about FF2, and that IE6 usage is now dropping off very quickly.

I think once any browser usage gets below 2% it's time to discontinue support for it.
