So because the K100RS is running so much better than it ever has I looked through the paperwork to see if anything significant was done.

As has often been reported about these bikes, the valves hardly ever need adjusting. 50K on the clock and the valves are /still/ in spec. They've never needed adjusting in all that time.

Looking through the rest of it I saw nothing significant with the exception of some throttle body vacuum nipple caps.

I talked to the tech at Bob's to see if he had done anything special, but it turns out he just did a tuneup. The best we can come up with is that the caps on the throttle bodies had dry rotted and were leaking vacuum.

Obviously the crack in the exhaust would have caused a problem as well, but you have to remember I had the exhaust repaired before and while it made an improvement it wasn't close to running as well as it does now.

Looking through the paperwork some more I noticed a comment by the tech stating that my brakes lines are done. I wish they had mentioned that to me while the bike was up there.

I've ordered a set of custom made stainless lines and I'll be having them installed in a couple of weeks.

It's only money, right?
